The KIEP-SKIES Rapid Tech Skills for the 2024 Cohort commenced today at Mama Ngina University College. The program is funded by World Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry (MITI),  State Department for Industry (STI). The placed students who are benefiting from the World Bank grant were inducted by facilitators from the School of Pure and Applied Sciences led by Dr Ratemo Makiya who is the a PI and technical lead of the implementing unit of the project. Mama Ngina University College today hosted two Belgium-based experts in business intelligence and cybersecurity (Inas Djelloul - Project Lead and Patrick Nenezic - SECUTEC company representative). The team drawn from VUB - Vrije Universiteit Brussel , met with undergraduate students of the School of Computing and Informatics to give global insights around cyber security tools and critical soft skills needed in today's world. Dr Ratemo Makiya from Mama Ngina University College,   engaging with Professor Michaël Dooms and team of visiting postgraduate students of the Vrije Universitieit Brussel (VUB) - one of the top public universities in Brussels, Belgium. The networking event explored possible opportunities for collaboration and took place on 26th March 2024 at the Belgium Embassy. Local partners from various sectors were present including Ms Maina who is a member of the Senate. The engagement was courtesy of the Ambassador of The Kingdom of Belgium (H.E Mr. Peter Maddens) and The Trade Commissioner (Mr. Ivan Korsak).

The installation gave us an opportunity to meet our new Chancellor, Amb. Dr. Francis K. Muthaura, graced by MNUC Chairman of Council, Dr. David A. Oginde, KU Vice Chancellor  Prof. P.K Wainaina,  the area MP G.G wa Kagombe, various community representatives and stakeholders who came to welcome the new team.

KUSA Nairobi North Conference 2023/2024 Results Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) made its debut in KUSA Nairobi North Conference League for the year 2023/2024 in various discipline and managed to walk away with the most Discipline trophy overall. The University College also managed to produce the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the same League. The 2024 International Women's Day celebrations were held by MNUC Members of Management, students and staff on Friday 8th March, 2024 in the MNUC. MNUC Leadership and Politics Club Visit to Kenya National Assembly and Senate on 6th March 2024

On 6th of March 2024, the Leadership and Politics Club had an educational visit to the National Parliament. The tour was divided into two sessions; morning session visit to the Senate and the afternoon session to the National Assembly. During the morning session at the Senate, the club members were recognized by the Speaker of the Senate. Youthful Senator Lemaletian Hezena, who identified with the students as a fellow comrade, graciously welcomed the team to the Senate gallery. Mama Ngina University College is among eight universities across Kenya implementing the SKIES Rapid Tech Skills Development Program funded by the World Bank. The KUCCPS application portal is open for the First Revision of applicants’ choices for placement to Universities, TVET Institutions, Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) and the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). The portal will close on April 4, 2024. Target: Applicants who have not secured any of their choices submitted in February/March 2024. 2023 KCSE examination candidates with C+ and above who did not apply for Degree Programmes during the February/March 2024 application period.
