  Mama Ngina University College is represented by Dr. Makiya Ratemo (Ag. Dean SPAS) and Mohamed Ali (PSC Intern) in a week-long Incubation Leadership and Innovation Management Program for universities in the East African Community (EAC). Other universities represented include Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Embu University, Open University of Kenya, Moi University and Meru University among others. From 12 - 15 November 2024, MNUC Student Governing Council (SGC) Intensive Induction Workshop was happening at the Kenya School of Government (KSG). This program is a vital step in preparing University Leaders to effectively serve and represent the student body. From November 6th to 8th, Cloud Developers from Konza Technopolis were training MNUC ICT professionals on Learning Management System (LMS) in order to facilitate Open, Distance and e-Learning. The training involved preparing system administrators and support personnel for the system’s deployment and ongoing usage. Initially, Virtual Private Server resources from Konza Data Center had been identified to host the Learning Management System for Mama Ngina University College. The LMS will support eLearning, including content management, learner tracking, assessments, and collaboration.

The Dean School of Health Sciences, Dr. Ruth Mbugua attended a stakeholders forum at the Nursing Council of Kenya. The CEO of the Nursing Council of Kenya Dr. Lister Onsongo hosted Deans form the schools of nursing across all private and public universities in Kenya. The Universities Stakeholder’s Forum set a plat form for the nurse educators to discuss strategies for enhancing training for nurses and midwives in Kenya.

On October 28th, the newly elected members of the Student Governing Council (SGC) were officially sworn into office, in line with Article 63(A) of the SAMNUC Constitution. The ceremony, that was held in the University College Lecture Theatre, was presided over by Principal Prof. Zipporah Ng'ang'a and witnessed by the Commissioner of Oaths Mr. Aaron Tanui  and the Head of Student Affairs and Outreach Ms. Josephine Nkangi. From 17th to 18th October 2024, MNUC was present at the Annual ICT Directors Forum for Universities represented by Mr. Isaac Kuria,  the Head of ICT. The Forum organized by Kenya Education Network (KENET) brought together all ICT heads from Kenyan Universities and experts from the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy. Mama Ngina University College through the School of Health Sciences led by the Dean Dr. Ruth Mbugua the Office of Student Affairs and Outreach under the guidance of Josephine Nkangi conducted the 4th integrated free medical camp on 12th October 2024 at the University College grounds. For the second year in a row, MNUC has attained an excellent score from the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) in Resolution of Public Complaints and Implementation of Service Charters. Pursuant to section 18 of the Data Protection Act, 2019 and Data Protection (Registration of Data Controllers and Data Processors) Regulations 2021, Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) has been certified as a Data Processor.  We have played part in ensuring a transparent, and accountable data processing ecosystem which encourages the upholding and safeguarding of  privacy rights of students, staff and all MNUC stakeholders.

In an effort to contribute to the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), The Vision 2030 (V2030), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and African Union 2063 Agenda, Mama Ngina University College aims to establish collaborations, linkages and partnerships with local, regional and international universities, research institutes, networks, associations, businesses and industries. The School of Pure and Applied Sciences held a post-industrial attachment workshop yesterday on 11th September 2024. The workshop targeted all the students of the school who were were on attachment for over four months in various organizations in the ICT sector between May 2024 and September 2024. The members of faculty of the School of Pure and Applied Sciences led by the Dean and Chairpersons of Department engaged with the students on their experiences on the emerging technology needs of the ICT industry as experienced during the attachment exercise. After a week of registration, admission, and orientation activities, the welcoming of the new first-year students culminated in a formal induction ceremony on Monday, September 2, 2024. The Matriculation ceremony, led by Principal Prof. Zipporah Ng’ang’a, officially welcomed over 500 new students to MNUC. This event marked the students' formal admission into the University College, setting the stage for the start of their academic journey.

On 23rd August 2024, The Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Kiambu County together with a Pakistan Commercial Consular delegation visited Mama Ngina University College. The main aim of the visit was to understand the investment opportunities available and seek partnership and collaboration with the University especially in Education and Training. The delegation was lead by the Chairman Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Kiambu Chapter. MNUC is committed to this partnership.

In line with our commitment to continual improvement, MNUC strives to consistently deliver high-quality and relevant education, training, research, and outreach. To uphold this commitment to our stakeholders, we engaged the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) for ISO 9001:2015 certification. The University College successfully passed the stage 2 audit, which took place on 22 August 2024, and has been recommended for certification.

The Principal Mama Ngina University College Prof. Zipporah Ng'ang'a, the Deputy Principal Prof. Thomas Sakwa and the Dean of the School of Pure and Applied Sciences Dr. Makiya Ratemo on Friday 16th August 2024 joined Vice Chancellors from eight public universities and other guests in a certificate-award ceremony of the World-Bank funded KIEP-SKIES Rapid Tech Skills scholars. Following the appointment of Dr. Dinah Mwinzi as the new Chair, of Mama Mgina University College on 7th June 2024, by the CS, Ministry of Education, a formal handover by the 1st Chairman of the Council, Dr. David Oginde took place on 10th July 2024.  Members of the Council and University College Management Board witnessed the transfer of the MNUC instruments of governance from Dr. David Oginde to Dr. Dinah Mwinzi. The Kenyatta University Centre for Gender Equity and Empowerment through a collaboration with the University of Warwick UK, has developed a Mobile app that will enhance reporting on sexual and gender-based violence. As part of the collaboration, KU team extended training to Mama Ngina University College staff on Friday 19th July 2024. The team in their presentation explained different forms of gender-based violence and their classification. The team further introduced the MNUC team to the Mobile Reporting Application for gender-based violence requesting proposals for improvement. This past weekend, Mama Ngina University College was represented during the Muhoho High School class 2023 education day. The school community came together to celebrate the excellent results posted by the 2023 class and to pray for the candidates of 2024 as they prepare for their upcoming national examinations. MNUC Compliments and Complaints Committee closed the 2023-2024 financial year with a Customer Service Sensitization and a Staff Appreciation forum. Staff members from key offices offered insight to others on their processes and services offered and ways in which we could all play a part in enriching the experience of all our customers.
