Mama Ngina University College on 12th August, 2025 welcomed Gatundu Sub-County Police Commander (OCPD) Jane Makena and Chief Inspector Joseph Kinyua as part of the institution’s
preparations for the upcoming September 2025 student intake. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the university and local law enforcement agencies, ensuring a safe and secure environment for the new cohort of students. The officers shared valuable insights and recommendations to enhance campus security measures, streamline
emergency response protocols, and maintain a conducive learning atmosphere. They were warmly received by members of the University College Management Board alongside the
Secure Government Building (SGB) officers stationed at the university, led by Inspector Wycliffe Munyao. Also present was the institution’s Head of Security, Mr. Isaac Mwaura, who reaffirmed the university’s commitment to upholding high safety standards. Speaking during the meeting, OCPD Makena commended the university for its proactive approach to security preparedness ahead of the intake, noting that continuous engagement with security stakeholders is key to safeguarding students and staff. Chief Inspector Kinyua echoed her sentiments, highlighting the importance of community policing and collaborative vigilance. The university appreciates the support and guidance from the Gatundu Sub-County security leadership and looks forward to sustained partnerships in fostering a secure and welcoming environment for all.
