Mama Ngina University College held its 5th Integrated Medical Camp on 11th October 2025 at the university college grounds. Led by the Dean School of Health Sciences Dr. Ruth Mbugua and the Head Student Affairs Ms. Josephine Nkangi, members of the community received free medical services and health education on prevalent conditions in the area.
The medical camp offered various free services, with over 1,000 clients utilizing the various medical services. The services provided included General Consultation, Pediatric, Gynecological, Optical, Family Planning, Orthopedic, Nutritional Counselling and Mental Health through psychological counselling. Free cancer screening services were provided for Breast, Cervical and Prostate Cancer. The participants received free Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Fistula, Hernia, Undescended testes and Goitre check-ups.
This was possible through our partner hospitals; Aga Khan University Hospital-Nairobi, Karen Hospital-Thika, Marie Stopes Kenya, PCEA-Kikuyu Hospital, Equity Afya, Neema Opticians & Lifeline Group of Hospitals. The community members were not only treated but were educated on prevention of various lifestyle diseases. Free drugs were dispensed through the immense support of our sponsors Sai Pharmaceuticals, Dagaim Pharmaceuticals, and Pharmasell Limited.
The success of the medical camp was due to immense support from the University College Management, staff and students, Gatundu South Sub-county MoH, Sub-county Community Health Strategy Focal Person, Community leadership and the Community Health Promoters.
