Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) successfully held its 6th Annual Integrated Medical Camp on Saturday, 17th October 2026, from 8:00 a.m. at the MNUC grounds. Led by the Dean, School of Health Sciences, Dr. Ruth Mbugua, and the Head of Student Affairs, Ms. Josephine Nkangi, the camp provided free medical services to over 600 community members, reaffirming the College’s commitment to accessible healthcare and community wellbeing.
The camp offered a wide range of medical services, including general consultations, paediatric, gynaecological, optical, dental and orthopaedic services, family planning, HIV testing and counselling, mental health support, and psychological counselling. Participants also benefited from free breast, cervical and prostate cancer screening, as well as screening and check-ups for diabetes mellitus, hypertension, fistula, hernia, undescended testes and goitre.
The successful delivery of the medical camp was made possible through partnerships with Aga Khan University Hospital, Avenue Hospital Thika, Gertrude’s Hospital Thika, Equity Afia Juja, Karen Hospital, Lifeline Group of Hospitals, Male Wellness and Urology Hospital, Emory Hospital, Neema Opticians, Optica Kenya, PCEA Kikuyu Hospital, the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA), and Marie Stopes Kenya.
Ahead of the day’s activities, the healthcare partners paid a courtesy call in the University College Boardroom, hosted by the Principal, Prof. Zipporah Ng’ang’a. The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen stakeholder relations, appreciate the partners’ continued support, and reaffirm the importance of collaboration in advancing community health and wellbeing.
The participation of the healthcare institutions and organisations demonstrated the value of strategic partnerships in expanding access to essential medical services. Through their professional expertise, personnel and healthcare support, the partners played a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of the camp’s objectives.
The Annual Integrated Medical Camp remains one of MNUC’s flagship community engagement initiatives, providing a practical platform for translating academic knowledge and professional expertise into meaningful societal impact.
