Mama Ngina University College joined the global community in celebrating International Men’s Day on Tuesday, 19th November 2025, under the theme “Empowering Men and Boys as Champions Against Gender-Based Violence.”
The event organised by Student Affairs & Outreach Office in Collaboration with the Art and Soul Club, SAMNUC leaders and Mr. and Ms. Campus brought students together for an afternoon of reflection, dialogue, and inspiration aimed at promoting positive masculinity, men’s health awareness, and responsible leadership.
The programme featured a rich panel discussion with contributions from both student and staff representatives, who explored the roles men and boys can play in preventing gender-based violence and fostering healthier gender relations. Participants shared experiences, challenges, and practical steps toward building safer and more inclusive communities.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Elijah Maseno, delivered a powerful and insightful address highlighting the importance of values-driven manhood, emotional intelligence, and the need for men to become active advocates for social change. His message resonated deeply with the audience, sparking meaningful discussions throughout the event.
Entertainment was an exciting part of the programme, with performances by the Art and Soul Club, including themed songs, spoken word pieces, and dance presentations that echoed messages of unity, respect, and mental well-being. The event was hosted by MC Black and featured appearances from Mr. & Miss Campus, SAMNUC Leaders, the Gender Mainstreaming Committee and the MNUC Gender Focal Person adding vibrancy and engagement to the celebration.
