Counselling Services Office under Student Affairs & Outreach Section spearheaded Peer Counsellors training workshop which was successfully conducted on 21st and 22nd February 2026 at Mama Ngina University College- Lecture Theatre. The training aimed at equipping selected peer counsellors with knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide basic psychosocial support to their peers. The training covered key thematic areas including basic counselling skills, self-awareness, communication skills, legal and ethical issues in counselling, mental health, conflict resolution, leadership skills, referral mechanisms and self-care among other topics. Peer counsellors play a pivotal role in identifying and referring psychosocial issues as well as fostering a supportive and safe learning environment
