DigiFunzi and Mama Ngina University Sign Historic MOU to Empower the Next Generation in Digital Literacy

In a vibrant and promising event held at Mama Ngina University, DigiFunzi — an impact-driven digital literacy program — signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the university, marking a significant step forward in nurturing digital skills among Kenya’s youth.

The MOU solidifies a partnership aimed at equipping children aged 5 to 17 with essential digital competencies, while fostering creativity, collaboration, and leadership. Through this collaboration, DigiFunzi will offer training, mentorship, and hands-on learning opportunities designed to prepare young learners to thrive in the evolving digital economy.

The event was graced by the University Principal, faculty members from the Department of Computing and Information Technology, and members of the university management team. In her remarks, the Principal praised the initiative as “a forward-thinking alliance that will not only benefit the local community but also support the university’s mission to engage meaningfully with society.”

Representatives from DigiFunzi expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation made it an ideal ally in driving digital inclusion from a young age.

This collaboration is expected to lead to joint programs, community outreach activities, and the establishment of digital literacy hubs that will serve both students and the surrounding communities.

With this MOU, both DigiFunzi and Mama Ngina University have taken a bold step toward shaping a future where every child has the digital skills and confidence to unlock opportunities in a tech-driven world.
