Mama Ngina University College joined nursing and midwifery education stakeholders at Aga Khan University, Nairobi, for the official launch of the Nursing and Midwifery University Educators Kenya (NUME K) Caucus, a national platform established to strengthen collaboration among nursing and midwifery educators across Kenya.
The University College was represented by Dr. Ruth Mbugua, Dean, School of Health Sciences and Ms. Joy Anyira, Chairperson, Department of Nursing and Clinical Studies.
During the launch, Dr. Ruth Mbugua, Vice Chairperson of the Nursing and Midwifery University Educators Kenya (NUME K) Caucus, reaffirmed the Caucus’ commitment to fostering collaboration among universities and professional bodies to strengthen nursing and midwifery education, promote research and innovation, advance leadership and mentorship, and contribute to policy and curriculum development. She emphasized that a united academic community is essential in preparing competent, ethical, and globally competitive nurses and midwives who can respond to Kenya’s evolving healthcare needs.
The launch brought together representatives from the Nursing Council of Kenya, universities, and professional associations, reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing excellence in nursing and midwifery education through collaboration, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
