Biotechnology Application in Medicine

The Kenya University Biotechnology Consortium (KUBICO) organized a workshop at Serena Hotel – Nairobi to sensitize health care professionals in academia and industry on the role of biotechnology in improving the health and well-being of patients and society at large. The workshop shed more light on the ground breaking advances in Biotechnology to include precision medicine, recombinant DNA Technology, Genetically Modified Foods among others. MNUC School of Health Sciences, faculty joined fellow health care professionals to deliberate on issues around management and commercialization of biotechnology products for the benefit of the country. Dr. Ruth Mbugua, the Dean School of Health Sciences was a key note speaker and gave her perspectives as a health professional.
