Biotechnology Application in Medicine

The Kenya University Biotechnology Consortium (KUBICO) organized a workshop at Serena Hotel – Nairobi to sensitize health care professionals in academia and industry on the role of biotechnology in improving the health and well-being of patients and society at large. The workshop shed more light on the ground breaking advances in Biotechnology to include precision medicine, recombinant DNA Technology, Genetically Modified Foods among others. MNUC School of Health Sciences, faculty joined fellow health care professionals to deliberate on issues around management and commercialization of biotechnology products for the benefit of the country. Dr. Ruth Mbugua, the Dean School of Health Sciences was a key note speaker and gave her perspectives as a health professional. Isaac Kuria, MSc. is a Computer Scientist and Head of ICT based at Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) with extensive knowledge in Computing Systems, Networks, Project Management, Web Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Search Engine Optimization and ICT Change Management. Isaac Kuria leads the ICT team with strategic and operational plans, ensuring the University technological needs are met with cost-effective, reliable, and customer-focused solutions. Isaac Kuria is also the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of MNUC.
